For the final project update of 2023, I decided to once more highlight some panels focusing more on Early Bird's background elements. It's obviously essential that Hector and Satoru are engaging and fit well as a pair in panels and sequences featuring them together, but capturing them individually within the story's setting and environment is just as important.

However, this month's update isn't just about showing off glimpses from some newly finished pages!

Regarding Backer Surveys

I'm also going to use this update to outline how backer surveys will work, and when supporters can expect surveys to be available. I initially planned to submit surveys to backers by the end of this year, but have opted to send out surveys in 2024 instead. In the fulfillment of previous Kickstarter campaigns, I’ve run into the occasional complication where some backers’ mailing addresses might change between initially submitting their backer survey, and when their rewards are ready to ship. Backers will of course be able to change their shipping details on their survey until fulfillment for Early Bird is about to begin, and there will be ample reminders about this, but I wanted to reduce the time between sending out surveys and rewards being shipped.

What will be in my backer survey?

If you’re in a tier receiving a physically shipped reward:

• You’ll be able to choose which cover you’d like for your copy of Early Bird Vol. 1 (if you’re receiving more than one printed copy, you’ll be able to choose the preferred cover for each of them individually).
• You’ll also be able to add on certain items if you’d like extras, or if you missed out on them during the campaign (including stickers, enamel pins, or extra copies of Early Bird Vol. 1).
• And of course, you’ll be submitting and confirming the mailing address for your shipped rewards. Just to reiterate, you’ll be able to freely access and change this even after submitting your backer survey. You’ll have until the cut-off date shortly before fulfillment begins (backers will receive multiple alerts before shipment information will no longer be able to be changed).

If you’re in the “VIP Backer” Shoutout tier, you’ll be able to list how you’d your name or online handle for special crediting within Early Bird Vol. 1. Also, if you’re in the “Recipe for Success” tier, you’ll be able to describe the recipe/meal of your choosing you’d like to be presented within Early Bird Vol. 1’s recipe section.
