It's the final Progress Tease for 2024, and I hope that, as bleak as things appear for so many in the world, everyone reading this will still have a markedly better 2025 than 2024 no matter how this year may have treated you.
Since the Progress Tease from last month where I revealed the new completion date for Early Bird Vol. 1, Federica and I have been working extra hard and diligently, and this has made the past month massively exciting in watching the book come together tighter and fuller! A huge amount of new art material and pages have been finalized this month, and we're looking to make sure this momentum and pace will stay the course to keep things on schedule.
I decided to pick out some shots from a bunch of disparate scenes to share for this month's post, and I'm sorry to say that I don't sincerely feel like saying "Happy New Year", but I'll still continue working my hardest on this book while hoping for, and advocating for, the best.
Hey everyone! As promised, the update for this month will reveal more insight and details about Early Bird Vol. 1's status, including a new planned date for the book's completion.
Federica and I have arranged and outlined a very thorough and rigid schedule to get Early Bird Vol. 1 finished and prepared for print by the end of May, 2025. That puts the new planned deadline for completion exactly six months out from now, about ten months past the initially planned ship date, about eleven months since I revealed the delay earlier this year, and just shy of the Kickstarter campaign's two-year anniversary.
Please note that May 2025 is not a fulfillment date, but the window in which I intend to have Early Bird Vol. 1 prepared to be shipped off for printing. Nonetheless, the announcement of a finished 120~ page graphic novel will be the largest milestone I'll be able to report, and fulfillment will occur not long after (other rewards can be planned and ordered ahead of the steps in getting the book printed).
Everyone has been incredibly, infinitely supportive and patient as they wait for Early Bird Vol. 1 to arrive, but just about any creative ambition will always, without fail, be the subject of a collision at the intersection of Thing is Bigger Than I Thought and Thing Takes Longer Than I Thought. It's so common and expected that, even planning for this, I was still (like countless others) somehow caught a bit flatfooted. It's obviously possible for other setbacks or complications to occur, but be assured that Federica and I are going to work our hardest to meet the new end-of-May deadline for completion.
